Despite being busy with school starting, I've started reading Ruanaidh. First impression is that it reminds me of the narration style of a series of books from my childhood called The Great Brain that were authored by John Dennis Fitzgerald. (If you have kids in your life, check them out! They are great.) It's a folksy, familiar storytelling style as the author relates familial tales that he heard once upon a time. I'm enjoying it so far, but can't wait to get to the meat of the story -- Art Rooney and the founding of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hopefully I have the energy to read in the evenings, as I was pretty exhausted this first week of the school year.
