So today was supposed to be the first day of the RoRC, but I'm exhausted from going back to work this week and am still reading a library book — Rickey by Howard Bryant (a biography of Rickey Henderson). So, I'm not going to start the first challenge book yet but I will talk about it today.
The book is one that Rowan chose for me to begin the RoRC with -- Ruanaidh by Art Rooney Jr. It's a biography of the patriarch/founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the story of his family who have played such an enormous role in leading the football team that I've loved my entire life. Ruanaidh is the Irish/Gaelic spelling of the Rooney name and translates to "red-haired." I've owned this book since 2009, so it has spent 13 years on the shelf of shame. I purchased it at the Pro Football Hall of Fame during a visit to Ohio for my cousin Sarah's wedding.
I always enjoy books about the Steelers and I respect the Rooney family tremendously; so I'm excited to finally crack this one open. I'll update again when I start reading .
